Q: Are you registered with your local council?
A: Yes, we hare registered with Northamptonshire county council, we have been assessed by them and have received a rating of 4 out of 5 for our Health and hygiene practices. You can check our credentials by calling them on 01536 410333.
Q: How much deposit is required and when is payment due?
A: A £50 deposit is required to secure the date, the balance is due 7 days prior to the event.
Q: Do you have insurance?
A: We have both Public and employee liability insurance for several million pounds, enabling us to take on even the largest events and be covered. Please click on the link on the Hog Roast page to see the Event Organisers Schedule.
Q: How long are you on site for?
A: We generally arrive 5 to 6 hours before you need to eat to set up and cook the pig fresh on site for you. Once we start service we serve the Hog for 2 hours maximum. This is to comply with the food hygiene regulations and ensure a quality product. If you are having desserts etc then we will be there until required to make sure all the guests are served.
Q: What happens if something happens and you don't turn up?
A: We have never failed to attend an event, we have several machines to cook with and plenty of cooking and serving staff to acommodate any mechanical breakdown or sudden staff illness. Major traffic disruption may delay us but we always leave plenty of time and check for planned roadworks. All staff have sat-nav's in the vans to find alternative routes if the need arises.
Q: How do I book you?
A: Simply call us and we will check the availability of the date. We then ask you to complete a booking form (available off a link on the bottom of the Hog Roast Page) and pay a £50 deposit to secure the date. Once the deposit os received, we enter you in the diary and contact you a week prior to the event to check all the details.
Q: When do I need to give you the final number of guests and choices of salads or desserts ?
A: The last date for changes is 7 days before the event, we will call you 7 to 10 days beforehand and go through the final details with you and then calculate your final bill.
Q: Do you take credit cards
A: Yes, we take all major cards, except American Express. You can call into the office or make payment over the phone. We can also supply our account details for on-line banking transfers
Q: I have a surprise party, can you cook the pig off-site?
A: It depends where you are, Food hygiene regulations do not permit us to transport food without hot-holding. Therefore we would have to cook the pig close to where your event is so that there would be only a short time where the pig was being transported.
Q: What's the largest number you can cater for?
A: We have catered for c.1500 guests for 2 local corporate customers, we can cater for maore with enough notice. Please contact us to discuss larger numbers.
